“Harness Your Inner Child: Writing and Marketing for MG and YA” is a 3-day session geared toward Middle Grade and Young Adult writers. It will build on such topics as writing inspiration, foundations of worldbuilding, and marketing your book through one of the most lucrative ways for a children’s book author – school visits!

Workshop instructor Donna Galanti is the author of the bestselling paranormal suspense Element Trilogy and the children’s fantasy adventure Joshua and The Lightning Road series. Donna is a contributing editor for International Thriller Writers’ the Big Thrill Magazine and blogs with other middle grade authors at Project Middle Grade Mayhem. Donna enjoys teaching at writing conferences and presenting as a guest author at elementary and middle schools. She also loves building writer community. See how at yourawesomeauthorlife.com

Galanti says, “Being a children’s book author is about discovering that wondrous place between magic and the real world, and the best part is sharing that magic with kids. PWC was one of the very first conferences I attended as a new writer many years ago. I’m excited to share how to harness this magic for conferees!”

Galanti classifies “Harness Your Inner Child” as for Beginner and Intermediate writers. The PWC defines an Intermediate writer as one who has studied the craft of writing (in this case, of writing a novel), and has written several stories. Fiction “Intermediate” writers understand the general flow of story and plot; know a bit about publishing and markets; and have probably taken at least one writing course (whether at PWC or elsewhere).
