“Harness Your Inner Child: Writing and Marketing for MG and YA” is a 3-day session geared toward Middle Grade and Young Adult writers. It will build on such topics as writing inspiration, foundations of worldbuilding, and marketing your book through one of the most lucrative ways for a children’s book author – school visits!
Galanti says, “Being a children’s book author is about discovering that wondrous place between magic and the real world, and the best part is sharing that magic with kids. PWC was one of the very first conferences I attended as a new writer many years ago. I’m excited to share how to harness this magic for conferees!”
Galanti classifies “Harness Your Inner Child” as for Beginner and Intermediate writers. The PWC defines an Intermediate writer as one who has studied the craft of writing (in this case, of writing a novel), and has written several stories. Fiction “Intermediate” writers understand the general flow of story and plot; know a bit about publishing and markets; and have probably taken at least one writing course (whether at PWC or elsewhere).
The 70th Annual Philadelphia Writers’ Conference will be held June 8-10, 2018, at the Wyndham Philadelphia Historic District. Visit this page for more information, including speaker information and a general schedule of events.
