The wonderful Jenn McCreary will be holding a three-day poetry workshop at the 2019 Philadelphia Writers’ Conference!

McCreary is a Philadelphia poet. Her published collections include THE DARK MOUTH OF LIVING (Horse Less Press); & NOW MY FEET ARE MAPS, and :AB OVO: (Dusie Press); A DOCTRINE OF SIGNATURES (Singing Horse Press); and WORRYWORT, a collaboration with poet Pattie McCarthy (LRL Textile Editions). THE SKIN OF A SPELL, based on her own poetry and adapted for Poets Theater with playwright Kathy Vindograff, has been performed in Oakland, Philadelphia, and Brooklyn.

McCreary currently serves as president of the board of directors for Small Press Traffic, a San Francisco-based nonprofit arts organization for experimental writing, and as minister of information for Tripwire: a journal of poetics. In 2013 she was named a Pew Fellow in the Arts for poetry.

Jenn’s workshop will focus on erasure poetry, a form of found poetry which allows the writer to take existing text and erase, strike out, or otherwise obscure select words and passages to create new work, often in the form of visual illustration.

The 2019 Philadelphia Writers’ Conference will be held on June 7 – 9, 2019 at the Wyndham Hotel at 4th and Arch Street in Old City  Philadelphia. Registration for the conference will open in early 2019.
