On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Writers Conference, please allow me the pleasure of extending our sincere welcome to you! We hope it will be stimulating and inspiring three days. We are honored to be able to present so many talented people as our speakers, agents, editors, judges and faculty members. They are accomplished professionals who are well-known in their specific genre or field. In addition to the educational aspect of the conference, we hope you enjoy the networking opportunities and the camaraderie between old friends and new friends.
Throughout the weekend, there will be board members at the registration table to answer any and all questions you may have. Please also feel free to approach any PWC board member (all of us are identified as board members on our name tags). We are only too happy to be of assistance.
The Philadelphia Writers Conference continues to evolve. You have the power to influence the conference and our activities. Over the past few years, due to the valuable input of our conferees, we have made significant changes to our procedures, including online registration, the capability to accept credit cards, changes in class tracking, coffee and tea served at the time of registration, and a more user-friendly and interactive website. We take your comments and suggestions very seriously.
Please remember to let us now how we are doing. We want to keep our finger on the pulse of our attendees, by asking you to complete the survey in the conferee packet and place it in the designated box on the registration desk, as you leave on Sunday evening. If you prefer to complete the survey online, we’ll have the link posted on this website starting on Sunday. In the same vein, if you know someone who is a professional published writer, an expert in a specific genre, and/or an inspiring speaker, please feel free to refer that person to us for consideration for a future conference. Let us know what works for you and how we can effectuate positive change.
In addition to the Conference Evaluation Form, you will also find a Nomination Form for the PWC Community Service Award. If you know of someone who works diligently as a volunteer on the Greater Philadelphia writing scene, please nominate them so we can honor them for their efforts.
It is our primary goal is to create a supportive environment and a motivational, educational weekend for you. We hope our 67th Philadelphia Writers Conference is an enriching experience!
