Hello – I’m looking for information regarding the 2013 Philadelphia Writer’s Conference. I can’t seem to find any info for 2013 – only reports from 2012. Is there going to be a 2013 conference? If so, where/how can I get info about the agenda, speakers, etc.?

Thanks for any information that you can provide.

    Regards,
    Melissa Snyder

Updates to the website are in the works. Additional information, including links to our brand new, turbo-charged registration site should be up by March 1, 2013.

hi Dawn. Registration includes coffee service, but lunches are not included. There are dozens of places to eat nearby, serving everything from pizza to paella. The location page on the registration site can give you an idea of what’s nearby.

      Hi, Elaine,
I remember my first writers’ conference .. it was here at the PWC! I had a ball – I felt like a sponge, I was so ready to soak up everything that was offered! I quickly became addicted (!) and eventually ended up on the board. Glad to hear you sent your work in for critique. I hope you got your work into the contests, too ! The awards are given out after the keynote speech on Saturday night … and it always feels like the Academy Awards! “The Envelope Please!” It’s exciting. Don’t forget to bring some extra work for the “raps” and for the Words on teh Wall Contest. You’ll get to post one page of poetry, nonfiction and/or fiction in the Hancock Lounge – and conferees can vote on their favorite piece in each genre! I know you’re going to have a great experience ! Looking forward to seeing you. Be well, Eileen

Would like to know how to submit for next year. Do you know where it will be held? Also is any meeting being held though out the year? Such as a gathering
place to share ideas in the South Phila. Area.
    Thanks
    Lydia

I’d like to suggest a speaker, Janice Gary, author of Short Leash: A Memoir of Dog Walking and Deliverance published by Michigan State University Press. Ms. Gary is an award winning author based in Maryland (www.janicegary.com) and is a wonderful speaker and writing instructor, and Short Leash is a great book!

Hello, I was curious about information regarding the conference in 2014, or if there is one. I’m not familiar with PWC, nor have I ever attended a conference.

    Thanks,
    Charlie

    Dear Folks,
I truly appreciate the huge chunks of your personal time dedicated to PWC & in support of writers; howver, I hoped that having signed on and attended the past two years, I would be on an automatic email list for announcements, contests etc.

Is there a way to accomplish this? E.g., I have googled for ten minutes to find out the dates for the 2014 conference, or even a “stand-by” alert of some kind. Can the PWC site include a “do/do not send me future notices, etc.”

    Thx. for all you do.

Hi Lanny….sorry for the delay. We sent out the invitations last night and it should be in your in-bin. You can also find updates on this website detailing the workshops and workshop leaders. Hope to see you in June!
